Language Enhancement

on Oct 29 in Uncategorized

The problem with communication is that when people converse and use language, they often times only consider the ‘intellectual meaning’ of their language, not knowing the unconscious effect their language has on the listeners.

We program ourselves with language, we program others with language. The ‘programming’ I’m talking about is the unconscious effect of language on a person’s neurology affecting behaviors and emotional states.

This is often the reason for misunderstandings between people, relationship issues, loss of productivity at work, and much more. Miscommunication on the unconscious level is something that very few people know about, but most people do it.

Language Enhancement operates by a simple principle: All Language Is Hypnosis. All conversation involves programming. NLP in part, is the study of how language affects neurology. This was first discovered by Dr. Milton Erickson who was a psychiatrist in the 1950’s. He was able to induce trance and hypnotic states, place hypnotic commands, and change behaviors while the client thought they were simply involved in a conversation. Later, Dr. Richard Bandler, founder of NLP, created “The Milton Model of Hypnotic Language”, as part of NLP training.

Something else was also discovered in the field of Behavioral Research. Everyone on the planet using language and conversation was also using this model, only without knowing it. This meant that people were doing hypnosis on one another all the time, and simply didn’t know it.

This is where the concept of ‘All Language is Hypnosis’ began. People are already using all the principles of Ericksonian Hypnosis with blindfolds on. What would happen if people took that blindfold off, and started to communicate with precision, knowing exactly how language affected the listener’s unconscious? The solution is for people to learn how their language affects the sub-conscious mind.

In other words, to teach them the basics of conversational hypnosis. These are skill sets from “The Milton Model of Hypnotic Language” and other NLP language skills to develop your language mastery. This will allow you to determine and adjust how your language is affecting the listener’s unconscious as well as knowing how to better program your own mind using better language. Remember that all people program themselves with their own language, this is referred to as ’self talk’.

Your persuasion skills will increase, your clarity in communication will increase, and with these skills you will often be able to tell the meaning behind people’s words, simply by recognizing how they use their language. This is a set of skills to go well beyond enhancing communication, this set of skills will allow you to program yourself and others hypnotically to produce healthy results.

A Simple Demonstration: This is an exercise on how to program the mind into remembering more. Avoid using the word ‘FORGET’, start using the word ‘REMEMBER’. This is a way to program yourself and others. If people tell themselves ‘not to forget’, they will often times forget. This is because ‘don’t’ is a negative command for the unconscious to ‘do’, and ‘forget’ is a command word for people to forget. Remembering simply involves telling yourself to remember.

Since this is a common mistake in language, I’m sure you will remember this because when you tell your kids to remember to be safe or your significant other to remember the milk on the way home, or your colleagues at work to remember the project is due Monday, they will remember. People’s sub-conscious acts very much like a super-computer that follows commands. All commands! Think about it…

Alexander Serra is a licensed trainer of Neuro-Linguistic Programming and is listed with The International Society of NLP and The First Institute. Alexander has had the privilige of studying with Dr. Richard Bandler, founder of NLP and the world’s foremost expert on hypnosis.

How To Overcome Fear Of Public Speaking

on Oct 28 in Uncategorized

It is natural to feel afraid of talking in front of a large audience. But the important thing is not letting the fear conquer your mind. We must always remember that challenges always help in bringing out the best in us.

By refusing to not speak before a large gathering simply because of anxiety and nervousness would be equivalent to behaving like an escapist.

So, if you have been assigned to deliver a speech in couple of days then you should be happy to learn that you would soon be getting rid of your fear forever.

It is important to collect as much information as you can about your subject. It is also important to understand your subject well.

That is because only when you are clear about the subject will you be able to engage the audience enough in your speech. If you are worried about forgetting your lines on looking at the audience, the best thing would be talking in front of the mirror.

This will not just make you more confident but you will also know how you will appear while talking.

 1. For some people how they appear while talking matters a lot and talking in front of the mirror is one of the best ways of conquering this fear.

Remember, to have extra material ready as back-up in case you forget your original matter. It is better to be prepared than not knowing what to say on completely forgetting your original speech.

Be extremely positive. Be sure of your abilities and keep telling yourself that no matter what you will do a terrific job.

This will stimulate more confidence in you. Stop practicing an hour or thirty minutes before your speech. Simply relax.

 1. Your tensed muscles will unwind and you will feel much better to talk.

If you want to learn how to overcome fear of public speaking, i recommend you check out the Get applause now guide by Darren La Croix, a world public speaking champion.

Ten Presentation Skills Secrets to Outselling the Competition

on Oct 27 in Uncategorized

Usually, you have one opportunity to present your organization’s ideas, products, and/or services to the audience. You work on the account for months and the presentation is your big moment. You speak to an under enthusiastic, yet polite audience; they thank you for your presentation and say they will get back to you. Unfortunately, after the presentation you learn that they went with another vendor.

What Happened?

It amazes me how often we see presenters with only one opportunity to make a presentation to sell their products, services, or ideas who come nowhere near meeting the needs of their audience. It’s almost as if the presenter is apologizing for making a presentation, and this prevents them from presenting well.

Why is it important for you to give a powerful presentation that sells you and your organization? You face more competition during these economic times, so you need to stand out so that the prospective “customer” chooses you as their provider. Your job as a presenter is to convince the decision-makers to choose your organization or act on the information shared during your presentation. The following are ten presentation skills secrets that will help you give a powerful presentation that will sell you to decision makers:

1. Research Audience Needs – Invest time to find out what is important to the audience members so that you can meet their specific needs. Find out what challenges they face and how you can help them overcome these challenges. You will find out your audience members will appreciate your presentation more since you took the time to find out what is most important to them.

2. Be Organized – Have a clear opening, body, and closing to your speech. Take the time to outline your main points and keep it simple. Don’t put everything in your presentation. Keep your presentation to three main points with sub points.

3. Get Excited – Show your excitement and passion for the subject you present. When you are excited and it shows, the audience will also become excited about your presentation. Excited audience members are audience members who will take action.
4. Dress the Part – A friend once told me, “Dress like you want to be listened to.” Take time to dress the part of an expert. Be professional in the way you dress. Investing in your looks shows the audience that you respect them and want to do a good job for them.

5. Open Strong – Bring in the audience members by creating a strong opening that will engage and challenge the audience. Be confident and know your material so that rest of the presentation will be smooth.

6. Present Features and Benefits – Most presentations I listen to are laden with feature after feature of what the organization does. You will distance yourself from the competition by presenting how the features you present will benefit the decision makers. The difference between features and benefits is that features are elements a product or service has (e.g., easy opening parts, multiple customer service shifts, fast processors), while benefits are how those features can benefit the customer (e.g., easy opening parts allow you to quickly clean the product without hassle, multiple customer service shifts provide you with 24/7 service so that you get the answer you need when you need them, fast processor allow you to process your work in half the time). Remember, decision makers will not care about you and your organization until they see how your organization will benefit them.

7. Questions Are the Answer – As you prepare for your presentation, ask the following question: “What are the possible questions I might be asked during my presentation?” Once you have a list of possible questions, develop powerful answers. Develop the mindset that questions asked by the audience are positive because they give you clues to how you can adjust your presentation to meet their needs. So, embrace questions as a way to make your presentation better.

8. Use PowerPoint As An Aid – How many presentations have you seen that suffered “death by PowerPoint?” The presenter has hundreds of slides they must go through. The slides are cluttered with several lines of text and multiple graphics on the each page. Presenters read directly from every slide, as the audience grows bored. Remember the following to prevent death by PowerPoint:

You are the presentation; PowerPoint is the supporting aid to your presentation.

If your presentation cannot work without PowerPoint, it’s not a strong presentation. Look for unique ways to simplify your presentation by eliminating PowerPoint slides that do not enhance your message.

9. Close Strong – Close your presentation by asking audience members to take action on the information you shared in your presentation. Ask the decision-makers in your audience to take the next step and chose you and/or your company. Repeat the benefits of doing business with you so that you become the obvious choice.

10. Ask for Feedback – Your presentation doesn’t end with your closing. After your presentation, ask for feedback from decision-makers in the audience. Listen to the feedback so that you can address the concerns they may have concerning you and your organization.

Your job is to stand out and be a cut above the rest of the competition so that decision-makers will choose you or your organization. Follow the ten presentation secrets and you will gain more opportunities and success.

Presentation Skills: Outstanding Presentations Start in the Mind: Five Presentation Skills Secrets for Overcoming Your Fear of Public Speaking

on Oct 27 in Uncategorized

Public speaking presents such a challenge for many people. In the Book of Lists, the fear of public speaking and making a presentation constitute the number one fear; the fear of dying is number two. Like the old saying goes, “People would rather be in the grave than make a presentation.” You see people sweat, shake, and quiver while they are speaking. Sometimes, employees bypass promotions, and business owners bypass business opportunities rather than give a presentation. I saw a manager who was on the corporate fast track quickly become derailed because she couldn’t complete her presentation in front of senior management.

So what do great speakers do to prepare themselves to be great presenters? They prepare their minds to give a great presentation. That’s right; it all starts in your mind. How can you develop a great speaker’s mindset, overcome your fear, and start giving outstanding presentations? The following are five secrets for overcoming your fear of public speaking and giving outstanding presentations:

1. Believe It So That You Can Achieve It
I am approached by people who say, “I can’t speak in public,” “I am a bad speaker,” or “I could never speak in public.” Without hearing them speak, I say, “You’re right.” Because once you make those negative statements, they become self-fulfilling prophesies. When you say, “I am a bad speaker,” your subconscious mind is thinking, “Well, he or she said it, so it must be true; so I will act like a bad speaker.” Positive speaking attitude (PSA) is one of the first things I work on during my presentation coachings. Replace the negative speaking attitude with a PSA to master your self talk and improve your presentation skills. Instead of saying, “I am a bad speaker,” say the following:

When you make these positive affirmations, your subconscious mind hears it and says, “Yeah, I am improving,” or “Let me speak because it is an opportunity for success,” or “I am mastering my speaking skills.”

Manage your self talk for a PSA. You will feel a new confident attitude concerning public speaking.

2. Think About What You Want to Accomplish
I will ask the question, “What do you want to accomplish with your presentation?” Many times I will be on the receiving end of a blank stare or the student might say, “I just want them to listen to me.”

Take time to think about what you want to accomplish by giving your presentation. Is it that you want to entertain the audience, do you want to persuade them on an important issue, or maybe you want the audience to take action after hearing your presentation. Going into your presentation knowing what you want to accomplish creates focus and is a big confidence builder.

3. Visualize Success
Recently, I had the opportunity to speak at an association conference with over five thousand people in the audience. Joy, my wife, was sitting in the audience with our friend Jim who came to hear me speak for the first time. As I was about to speak, Jim leaned over and asked Joy if I was nervous speaking in front of such a large group of people. Without blinking an eye, Joy said, “He was born for this day. He saw this day coming when he first started speaking.”

I visualized that day long before it happened. Whenever I give a presentation, I take time to visualize a successful presentation and positive outcome. The more details I include in my visualizations, the more vivid and real it becomes for me. The night before the presentation I will find a quiet place at home or, if I am on the road, a hotel room, and meditate to start the visualization process. I will visualize my drive to the event, greeting the host and audience, and how my powerful presentation will sound and look on that day. I will also visualize the audience’s positive response to the presentation.

Take time to visualize the details of giving a great presentation. Like the old saying goes, “Fake it ‘til you make it.” If you visualize you are a great speaker, you will take the steps and create opportunities for yourself to become a great speaker.

Visualize that the audience wants to hear your message and they want you to do well. Remember, it’s their time also and they want to receive value out of your speech.

4. Own the Room

Whenever I speak, I “own the room.” I mentally tell myself that for the next thirty minutes, hour, etc., I own the room. The corporation, association, or government may own the building or venue I am speaking in, but during the time I am speaking, I am the owner of the room and the audience will be my guests, my friends. That way I am always in control to give an outstanding presentation.

Think of your speaking area as your house, your home, your castle. When you invite friends into your home, aren’t you in control and want to provide a safe, entertaining environment for your guests? The same is true for your speaking audience; you want to provide a safe, entertaining, and enriching experience for them.

I always say, “Giving presentations is not about me, it’s about you (the audience).” What I mean is that if I am constantly thinking about how I sound, look, and feel while I speak, I am not thinking about what I can share with my audience. Concentrate on the value you will give to your audience members and you will never go wrong.

5. Eat the Elephant
Many times I hear the following:

“I could never speak in front of a group of people, but one-on-one I am fine.”

Well, I ask, “How do you eat the elephant?” Break the elephant into smaller pieces. It is the same when you “digest” the audience. Don’t think of the audience as a whole, think of the audience as individuals ready to hear your message. Concentrate on thinking of your audience as individuals, and your message will come across that way to the individual audience members.

Follow these five secrets for overcoming your fear of public speaking and creating a positive mindset for confident public speaking. Overcoming your fearr of public speaking will improve your presentation skills and create new business, career, and life opportunities for you.

Whenever we listen the word “Alien” from somewhere, it directly relates our mind to other planet. We can say this because Alien is a person who comes from a foreign world or someone who doesn’t owe allegiance to our country.

Some people think that Aliens come from other planets and are something unfamiliar or very different from us. Aliens are not less than a thing of magic. There are various movies based on the Aliens in the Hollywood as well as in Bollywood such as “Alien” by Ridley Scott received an Academy Award for Visual Effects and also Hindi movie “Koi Mil Gya” directed by Rakesh Roshan; are putting their all focus on Aliens only. Thinking about aliens is like that we are living with a fake or false understanding in our minds regarding them. Aliens are birth of our thinking or these are real images that land on this earth. Children use to play different games related to Aliens.

Term UFO is also related to Aliens which means Unidentified Flying Objects. These flying objects are space crafts of Aliens just like our planes. Mostly UFO’s are disc shaped or look like umbrella. Stage Fright And How to Master It

on Oct 25 in Uncategorized

Stage fright happens to even the most self confident of performers or public speakers and can often occur quite unexpectedly. In its worst form it can leave you completely and utterly paralysed in front of your audience.

The big problem is, once it has happened it becomes highly likely that it will happen again. It is important to take control of stage fright as soon as possible to stop it from forming a habit.

To be able to master your stage fright it is important to understand how it comes about. Rather than being the result of an audience reaction, it is actually the anticipation of a negative audience reaction. It is a negative thought pattern which has been allowed to spin out of control.

Here are three quick and easy techniques to practise which can help beat stage fright. Through practice of a few minutes a day a positive, self confident habit is created and these techniques then kick in on autopilot.

The first technique is visualisation. Take a few minutes to go somewhere private and shut your eyes. Visualise yourself giving your best performance or speech in front of an appreciative audience. Play the applause in your mind over and over again. To really make this effective, play your favourite song in the background and really exaggerate the emotion and fill it with bright colours.

To complete this technique, you need to create a trigger for this thought pattern in your mind. Whilst visualising, touch your thumb and index finger together. Over time, you will instantly recreate this positive feeling just by touching your thumb and finger together. Do this in the last few seconds before your performance to fill your mind with your positive visualisation. This becomes stronger the more you practice.

The second technique has a similar concept. If you can, ask someone you know well, and feel great around, to attend the performance. Agree where that person will sit and ask them to smile at you from the start of the performance. You are setting up a positive thought to draw on when you need it.

As you are about to start, fix your gaze on that person and allow the positive vibe to enter your mind. This works really well when giving a wedding speech where there are likely to be many people you know and they will be on your side urging you to do well.

The third technique is to be used before you start your performance. One of the classic signs of impending stage fright is when you stop breathing. Often you will be completely unaware that you have not taken a breath for a long time.

Again, you will need to practice this over several days. Sit for a few minutes, close your eyes and take very deliberate slow and deep breaths. Count up as you breathe in and count back down as you breath out. Try to make the breath out longer than the breath in.

To use this, make a conscious decision before each performance to repeat this breathing exercise. Be aware that you may have stopped breathing and push yourself into doing the exercise. The increase of oxygen in the blood will control the level of adrenaline that builds up as you become nervous.

There are many more simple mind techniques you can use to create a positive thinking pattern to control your stage fright. It is a question of trying them and finding the ones that suit you best. Give them a chance and practice them at least once a day for a month until they become second nature. Just one of these could be enough to beat your stage fright.

Are aliens real – true or false

on Oct 24 in Uncategorized

Are aliens real? This is one question that has diverse answers. Some say that they do not and it is just a myth whereas, many believe that they do exist. Movies like Star trek, Independence Day, Taken, Species etc. force us to believe that there is something like the aliens. It is proved that there are other planets as well that exist but, still scientists are yet to prove whether there is life on those planets or not. Till then this question remains unanswered, are aliens real?

We hear stories about UFO’s (Unidentified flying object), Aliens and think that there are aliens but, NASA has denied it. They claim that there aliens don’t exist as; there is no proof that any alien has visited the earth till now. But, most astrobiologists foresee billions of inhabited planets, most of them filled with intelligent creatures. Though, no one has found any evidence of any life, even microbes, on other planets but, no one has even proved that there is no life on them, which makes everyone think about the life on other planets.
If we talk about the famous Egyptian pyramids, then most of the scientists wont believe that it has anything to do with the aliens but, the historians and architects understands how they were build. It is considered to be one of the Seven Wonders of the World and the only one that still stands. The ancient Egyptians were as smart as we are now and they had the excess food productivity to allow the construction of many such labor intensive monuments in the Nile valley over two thousand years. In short it is just considered as fairy tales by many scientists.

More than that, there is not even a single evidence of a photograph that tells that there is a face on the planet Mars There is just a picture of a mesa, which is when viewed under the right light at low resolution looks like a face. The pictures that are displayed on the various search engines are another example of mesa or the creativity of various people. Most people think are Alien Talk, after looking on those pictures and various fake videos and they are forced to believe that there is something related to the extraterrestrial life.

The ancient Egyptians were as smart as we are now and they had the excess food productivity to allow the construction of many such labor intensive monuments in the Nile valley over two thousand years. In short it is just considered as fairy tales by many scientists.

There are many books written by various authors on the existence of the aliens. These books tells about the life on other planets, existence of extraterrestrial life on them and also about the live experiences of people who have actually seen the UFO’s or aliens. After reading books like these you will think at least for once that aliens are real. There are various websites on the internet that has the footages and videos related to the aliens, whether real or fake.

Want to Be Better at Public Speaking? Stop Trying to be Perfect!

on Oct 21 in Uncategorized

Do you want to be better at speaking in front of an audience? Here’s a simple tip: stop trying to be perfect! That’s the advice of public speaking expert Seymour Segnit.

Segnit, a well-known life coach who helps people overcome their fear of public speaking, says that many people inadvertently sabotage their speeches by setting too high a standard for themselves. In the process, they set themselves up for failure.

“I’m not saying you shouldn’t try to be at your best,” Segnit says, “But don’t obsess about it.”

Segnit is concerned about the cycle of negative thought that develops for people preparing to give a speech.

“As it is, most people are deeply afraid of speaking in front of a crowd,” he says. If they expect their speech to be flawless, they are likely to experience panic when they make some minor gaffe.

“Of course you’re going to make a mistake!” Segnit says, “You aren’t perfect! No one is.”

Some of the best public speakers of our generation – including Tony Robins and Barak Obama – make speaking mistakes and trip over their words. But they don’t get flustered by these minor gaffes. “They simply move on, or they brush it off with a little humor,” says Segnit.

Segnit’s advice? “Just be as good as you can and enjoy the ride,” he says.

Segnit, whose company CTRN helps people overcome the fear of public speaking, has created a series of video lessons on dealing with speaking anxiety.

“There are lots of great resources out there about public speaking,” he says, “But very few of them deal with the psychological aspects of giving a speech, and that’s what most people are really struggling with.”

Among his lessons, he encourages people to visualize a success scenario for the day of their speech.

“Most people dread giving a talk,” he says, “So they wake up in the morning thinking ‘Oh no! I have to give my speech today. I just know it’s going to go badly.”

But it doesn’t have to be that way. Instead of envisioning a bad result, why not envision a successful speech that you feel great about?

“Why not?” asks Segnit. “The dread you feel is just a made up result for something that hasn’t happened yet. Why not make up a good result instead?”

Segnit encourages people to imagine their entire day up to the point where they finish their speech. “Imagine waking up and looking forward to your speech. Imagine it in detail, and imagine it as if you were experiencing it through your own eyes,” he says, “That’s very important.”

But doesn’t a success scenario mean you are trying to give a perfect speech? Segnit sees no contradiction.

“Successful speeches aren’t perfect, and neither are successful speakers,” he says. “But successful speakers don’t undermine themselves with negativity.”

Segnits company, CTRN, helps people overcome their fear of public speaking. He sells a CD program on dealing with public speaking anxiety. Segnit’s blog features videos on public speaking.

The program is based on removing any anxiety and panic attacks which may confront you while speaking. When you open the program, you’ll see there are a number of easy exercises for you to do. All can be done in the car while going to work. Even while sitting in front of the tv. (Although you may want to find a quiet spot to concentrate and go through the exercises.)

Does Kill Your Stutter Work?

Now, Kill Your Stutter has helped many long term sufferers take back their life. And the reason why is because of the exercises included in the program. Some people in forums have mentioned how quickly they were able to see improvements in their speech.

The reality is that not everyone is going to have complete success with Kill Your Stutter. That’s because you do need to follow the program and complete the exercises. For people who are too busy and only half interested in trying “another” program to cure stuttering, then Kill Your Stutter is going to be a waste of money.

However, if you are sick and tired of stuttering and not looking for excuses, then there’s every chance that Kill Your Stutter will work for you. Who knows, when you begin to speak with fluidity, you may want to help others end their stuttering.

Imagine what it will be like to show others how to stop stuttering.

Kill Your Stutter is a simple and easy program which will put an end to your pain today.
